Puzzle by
Tim Wescott, edited by Will Shortz
This Wednesday’s look-what-I-did crossword is accompanied by the note “When completed, this puzzle grid will contain an unusual feature that appears nine times. Can you find it?”, informing the solver of the reason the crossword was constructed, e.g.,
word squares. Other than that no-help-in-the-solution gimmick, the puzzle is of an airline-magazine variety.
